About Us
The creation of a scientific chair dedicated to the historical and urban heritage of Morocco and Al-Andalus is a natural response to our collective awareness of the importance of the legacy we have inherited as Moroccans from our civilizational past, in which Al-Andalus remains a major contributor. It represents centuries of sharing and co-construction with our Iberian neighbors, resulting in a scientific and cultural influence that has impacted all of humanity. It is, indeed, a universal heritage whose ramifications are still present today in traditions, know-how, and various forms of art and knowledge. Thus, the EMARA Chair aspires to be a space for education, culture, and dialogue centered around the Moroccan-Andalusian heritage, with the aim of fostering innovative human development. Its goal is to stimulate academic research and serve as a lever for strengthening cultural identity and visibility. EMARA’s mission is to build cutting-edge expertise in the enhancement, conservation, and restoration of this heritage, in order to better understand innovation processes and address societal challenges.
Its goal is to promote innovative human development by stimulating academic research and enhancing the identity visibility of this unique heritage.
